Tim Kulchyski, a biologist with the Cowichan Tribes on Vancouver Island discusses his work on the Cowichan River and Estuary and how he is inspired by the traditional teachings of elders. Tim describes his team’s work recording data for the estuary resilience project and on several other projects focused on fish migrations. This work is important so that the impacts of climate change on fish stocks can be tracked. Tim believes that the best step forward to help the Cowichan River and Estuary is for people to come together based on these values of nature and sharing to better equip natural places for the future.
